making history
Wow. I'm not staying up to watch but the US election is the biggest news ever. Earlier it was Obama/Democrats at 206 to McCain's 59... and now it's 207 to 135. Either way, this is going down as one of the liveliest elections ever. More so than what we've got up here anyway.Sunday, November 02, 2008
halloween howl
What makes a good party? Lots of people, dancing, drinking, loud music? Yes, all that, and throw in some cops. The Halloween house party started off slow with lots of space and few people, but when I arrived, I was disappointed to find 3 other girls dressed as nurses. Mind you, mine was the real mccoy, but they all wore their sexy little nurse caps and short skirts. Mine was vintage, as one of my friends said. We got together to do a group photo at everyone's insistence and then I realized how celebrities felt while being chased by paparazzi.By the time the party was in full swing a couple of hours later (10:30 or 11ish... I lost track of time), there were a couple of guys that had tried to pick me up. In a nice way I suppose but a pickup nonetheless. Flattering in any case.
It was a matter of squishing one's way through the party from the main "living room" to the "dining room" and through to the kitchen. Bodies, bodies, everywhere. That meant leaving the doors open where the cool autumn air basically whipped right through. No good place to stand - it was either in the middle of loud music, or freezing one's bottom off, or hanging in the kitchen where it was pretty decent except for those smoking a joint out in the back patio. Alas, it was good until the cops showed up. 3 cop cars parked in the middle of the street, and about 6 cops. We were told to keep it inside, or get out. My ride decided to bail so we left around 12:30, but I heard the party kept on going til 3 or 4 in the morning. Now THAT is a good house party!
