snow, snow, go away...

I don't believe I've ever seen as much snow or at least lived in a place where there is this much snow that the city has an actual snow melter machine to melt the white stuff. We were hit with a big storm last Wednesday, and another one today. We are supposed to get 20cm when it's all over (at about .5cm to 2cm of snow per hour). It's been accompanied by high winds that actually damaged/shattered the front entrance door to our building. (It is currently taped up and blocked with yellow tape and clear plastic.)

So by the end of it all we will have gotten 70cm of snow for Feb. when normally the average is 22cm (or what we'll have tonight.) The snowbanks are so high that newspaper boxes look lost. All this is good for snowboarding but damn it, if only they would really close down the city. A snow day would be so sweet...
