a new year, a new start
I can't believe how fast Christmas went by this year. Most of it was spent with family, including several dim sum sessions with the grandparents. Unfortunately, there was no family dinner on my dad's side this year, the first time I can ever recall this happening. It's a rarity but my oldest aunt's health isn't what it used to be.I slept lots. Every day. It was awesome. Of the trip, only two days were beautiful and sunny (we had a white Christmas! and I had thought I had gotten away with the snow!!) But those sunny days were gorgeous and the mountains, majestic as ever with a light dusting of snow. It was really sad to leave. Not only that, but my cousin's wife was due to give birth any day after Christmas. Turned out she was born on New Year's Eve! So I didn't even get a chance to see her.
Now I'm back to winter wonderland where the temperatures dropped to a bone chilling -25 with windchill. I just have to tell myself that it will be worthwhile in the end. And that I will be going back.
